David Smith

Dave is the President of Deep South Investment Services, where he helps clients develop a plan to meet their risk tolerance and pursue goals, execute that plan, and review the plan and make changes as needed to keep them on the right track. He has been in the financial services industry since 2001. In fact, he opened his first financial services office on September 10, 2001. Needless to say, that timing gave him a different perspective on everything and gave him a good taste of how he could help clients. 

Dave is passionate about seeing his clients happy and financially comfortable and he enjoys the relationships of trust he’s able to build. He puts their needs first and is always just a phone call away. Dave is also an Accredited Asset Management Specialist and is pursuing his Retirement Income Certified Professional designation, both designations that help him better serve his clients. 

Outside the office, Dave enjoys spending time with his wife, son, daughter, grandkids, and three dogs (he always jokes that he wants to become the man his dogs think he is!). Family is everything to Dave and he loves having family gatherings and watching football of any kind. Dave is also very active in his community and church. He is a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church where he serves as leader of the Eucharist Ministers and is a member of the finance committee. Dave is also involved in the Kairos Prison Ministry at the Rayburn Correctional Center serving as a volunteer and the institutional liaison.  Kairos is an international group working in state and federal medium and maximum security prisons that supports those who are incarcerated by sharing the love, forgiveness, and acceptance of Christ. He also supports the Northshore Humane Society and enjoys all of God’s creatures.
